Google's Hurricane Florence page shows that lake Erie and Lake Ontario can be affected.

Not sure when and how, though. GLERL does not show much waves yet up to Sep 18 and then there no data further.

Overall the Lakes seem to be calming down, but web cams had captured some beautiful waves at sunset. Tomorrow does not seem promising too much. But I wish I could check-out Eastern corner of lake Erie. See the pictures and details in Hurricane Florence Great Lakes hype center

Chicago looks good right now; Indiana Dunes is a bit curly. Sheboygan is getting fuzzy. In Canada: Grand Bend - some white water; Kincardine - Inverhuron we're about to get something. See that all at Hurricane Florence Great Lakes hype center

While Ben Gravy is talking about the East Coast in general, the Lakes are getting some commotion already. Surf forecast seem to be promising for the Great Lakes this weekend.

As reported by mlive.com, part of Lower Michigan may get severe storms late afternoon and evening today Jus 1st 2018 - see link. Yet GLERL does not count it in. Got to wait and see.

Grand Haven To Whitehall MI as reported by Weather Underground

... Gale Warning remains in effect from 11 am this morning tomidnight EST tonight... 

* winds... west 10 to 20 knots this morning increasing to northwest gales to 40 knots this afternoon. Wind diminishing to 10 to 20  knots by mid morning Monday.

* Waves... 1 to 3 feet this morning... building to 8 to 12 feet this  afternoon and continuing into this evening before subsiding to 3 to 5 feet Monday morning.

Looks not much interesting at Holland web cam as of 12:30 though.

Quite a wind overnight, even in Toronto. Port Colbourne area was quite enviting last week: no ice, just moderate snow onshore.
